The civil ceremony is often dismissed as the bureaucratic obligatory part, while the big celebration takes centre stage. But if we're honest: this is exactly where it happens. Here you officially and legally say “yes” to one another. Here you become a married couple on paper and before the law. This is the moment of actually getting married.

The emotions, the anticipation, the racing heart when the rings are exchanged – all of it is just as real and intense at the civil ceremony as at a free or church wedding. It's intimate, often in the closest circle, and full of small, unplanned moments that pass so quickly.
